Dear members, Amazing Sensory Designs would like to share important information with our members and families regarding federal funding for individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities in Illinois.
Numerous families and individuals require support both at home and within the community. The Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) program offers various funding options for therapy, personal support workers, adaptive sensory equipment, and behavioral supports. Unfortunately, many families are unaware of these available resources.
To access HCBS services, a PUNS assessment must be completed annually. PUNS is a database that registers individuals seeking or needing HCBS waiver services. In order to receive services, you must have PUNS assessment completed.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO KEEP PUNS UPDATED ?
Note: It is very important that you keep the PUNS assessment updated on an annual basis. Many families have completed PUNS database assessment and never have them updated. It is very important to update any health or situational status in PUNS database annually with your ISC agency, in order to keep it active in the system.
